Dani Alves denied bail

Dani Alves was denied bail in Barcelona following his sexual assault conviction.

The former Barcelona full-back was denied bail yet again while his judicial case of sexual assault and investigation proceeds.

Dani, 40, was detained in January of this year for an alleged instance of sexual assault on a lady in a Barcelona nightclub in December.

His contract with many firms, including Mexican team Pumas UNAM, was promptly terminated, and he has since been imprisoned without bail.

He was refused bail in February after repeatedly requesting his release  in a Barcelona court.

After reviewing video footage of his alleged flirtation with the girl who happened to be the complainant, the court determined that he would be detained indefinitely. The court also rejected evidence claiming that flirting should not be used to excuse an eventual sexual assault.
