Ayanda Noah is a professional engineer. She is the chairwoman of Central Energy Fund (CEF) and a former Eskom executive of customer services. On May 28, 2023 her name was included on a shortlist of potential candidates to take over as the Eskom’s CEO.

With over 29 years of experience Noah has been part of the Eskom team till 2018 when she was retrenched from the power company.

Ayana Noah has held director positions with the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, the South African National Energy Association, and Eskom Rotek Industries.

In 2018, she was retrenched from Eskom following an overhaul of the utility’s executive structure to do away with non-Exco officials at the senior general management level.

Noah was one of the witnesses against corrupt Koko’s disciplinary proceedings in 2017, alleging him of engaging in “irregular shenanigans” by swaying the decision to award an R1.1 billion contract for cabling at Kusile Power Station.

She has a BSc (Electrical Engineering) from UCT, an MBA from the International Management Centre, a certificate in executive development from WITS, a certificate in advanced management from Harvard Business School, and all of these degrees from reputable institutions. She is a member of SAIEE, IoDSA, and ECSA, where she holds a Pr Eng accreditation. Ms. Noah was named Group Chairperson of the CEF Board in 2020.
