There are rumors that Marumo Gallant midfielder Celimpilo Ngama would leave the club since he is on the Wishlist of numerous DSTV Premiership clubs.

According to sources, prominent clubs; Sekhukhune United and SuperSport FC are interested in signing him, and Ngema is eager to join these clubs and leave Gallant behind, despite the fact that they are on the verge of relegation.

Speaking on the matter an informant close to the clubs said in an interview  that Ngema started making moves to leave Gallant since last season but due to that fact that his clubs are already nearing relegation it was a difficult decision for them to make on selling him off.

“Ngema has been getting interest since last season. It was going to be difficult because we lost some of their top players like Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Miguel Timm. So, it was going to be a problem for the club. It’s not easy to replace such players. Now the relegation of the club is seen as an opportunity to get him on their books,” said the informant.

“There are many teams that are interested in his services. He is a good player and I’m not really surprised by this whole thing (teams after Ngema’s signature). I’ve heard that Sekhukhune and SuperSport are interested. But there are other teams as well. So, at the end of the day, it’s all up to him. He has done well for the club and I don’t think they will block him from leaving.”

Gallants were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship after they finished the 2022/23 season at the bottom of the league table, despite the team’s impressive showing at the Caf Confederation Cup.

Bahlabane Bantwa reached the semi-finals of the Confederation Cup, where they were knocked out by Tanzanian club Young Africans.

Ngema has been with Gallants since October 2020, and he won the Nedbank Cup with the Limpopo based club back in the 2020/21 season.

The 25-year-old is considered one of the best midfielders in the country with a lot of work-rate. The former Uthongathi FC played 39 games for Gallants this season, while scoring six goals and making four assists.
