Russia To Evacuate Inhabitants From Kherson

Vladimir Saldo, the newly-installed Russian head of Ukraine’s Kherson region in the south, has urged citizens to flee, alleging daily rocket assaults by advancing Ukrainian soldiers.

He begged Moscow’s assistance and advised them to “rescue themselves” by traveling to Russia for “leisure and education.”

Later, in a message broadcast on national television, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin backed up his call.

Ukraine disputes claims that it deliberately targets its own civilians.

Recent retaken territory by its troops in northwestern Kherson puts them closer to the city of Kherson, the region’s capital.
According to Mr. Khusnullin, who has specific responsibility for southern Russia and Crimea, “the administration took the decision to organize help for the departure of people of the [Kherson] region to other regions of the nation.”

“We will provide everyone with free accommodation and everything necessary.”
