In Mbombela, Five Suspects Were Caught Carrying Explosives

When they were discovered traveling with explosives during a multidisciplinary operation between Hazyview and Mbombela in Mpumalanga, five suspects, ranging in age from 20 to 35, were detained.
The suspects were apprehended after a multidisciplinary operation carried out by the Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) Task Team, Mpumalanga Highway Patrol, the Flying Squad, the Explosives Unit, and the Nelspruit-based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation.
Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi, a spokesman for the Hawks, claimed that the teams had been informed about a suspicious VW Polo.
She claimed that when officers saw the automobile driving from Hazyview to Mbombela, they discovered it to be carrying explosives.
At White River, the five-person car was stopped and searched, and the explosives were found and seized.
The suspects were detained and have been accused of possessing explosives without a license.
