The 19-year-old Naples man died in a tragic auto crash in Golden Gate in Collier County. According to reports, Jacob Moreno was hit by a collier County Sheriff’s Office SUV.

The deadly collision occurred soon after midnight on Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The Sheriff’s Office patrol car was northbound on Santa Barbara in the left lane, south of Hunter, with emergency equipment engaged, according to troopers.

The adolescent was walking in front of a Sheriff’s Office vehicle as it approached his location in the Circle K convenience store parking lot at 1998 Santa Barbara when he was killed. He passed away on the spot.

The driver of the Sheriff’s Office vehicle was unharmed, according to authorities.

How Did Jacob Moreno Die?

On Sunday night, a man identified as 19-year-old, Jacob Moreno was killed in an SUV collision on Golden Gate Boulevard in Collier County.

The 33-year-old Naples man was driving an SUV east on Golden Gate Boulevard, east of Everglades Boulevard, at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Another SUV was driving ahead of the first, driven by a 31-year-old Naples woman with an 11-year-old daughter as her passenger. The man’s SUV collided with the other went off the road and flipped.

The man was thrown from his SUV and taken to a local hospital, where he was subsequently declared dead. The accident is still being investigated.
