French professional footballer and Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema has revealed what has been the thrust behind his penalty scoring.

According to him during a post-match with sportsmen, Benzema revealed that his mental confidence was propelled him to take the Panenka penalty in their clash against Manchester City on Tuesday.

Benzema scored twice in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final at the Etihad.

After Aymeric Laporte was penalized after the ball touched his arm in the area, one of the important moments occurred.

Benzema converted the penalty with a brilliant ‘Panenka’ chip down the middle eight minutes from time to make the score 4-3.

“I’ve always believed that if you don’t take a penalty, you won’t miss a penalty.”

“That’s all there is to mental confidence.” “I have a lot of faith in myself… so I do it and it works out,” Benzema explained.
