Barcelona President, Joan Laporta has tendered his vocal apology to fans after German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt cut short the hopes of the LaLiga giants from the Europa League on Thursday.

Joan blamed their loss on the number of Eintracht Frankurt fans that filled the stadium.

Reacting to the recent development, Joan Laporta said he feels embarrassed and ashamed and affirmed that possible measures will be made to avoid the repetition of such a situation.

Thousands of Frankfurt fans could be seen cheering in the home end, despite the fact that they had sold out their away allocation.

“Frankly, what occurred makes me feel humiliated and ashamed,” Barcelona President Laporta said after the match to reporters. There were numerous supporters of the other side, but few of ours.

“I apologize profusely for what has occurred. Certain circumstances may be avoided, but for the time being, we will have to be considerably stricter. We can’t let this happen, therefore we’re going to do something about it.”
