Manchester United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick has finally revealed the reason why his striker, Cristiano Ronaldo was found missing in their Saturday match against Manchester City.

According to Ralf Rangnick, Ronaldo was forced to miss the game against Manchester City owing to a hip ailment.

For the Red Devils’ journey to Etihad Stadium, the 37-year-old was completely left out of the squad. Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw are also out of the United team after testing positive for Covid-19.

Ronaldo received the injury during Friday’s training session, according to the German coach. “Rapha Varane and Luke Shaw tested positive with Covid unfortunately in midweek,” Rangnick told MUTV.

Cavani trained well in the last three days but, in the end, didn’t feel quite well enough to be able to play.
