Elsa Majimbo, a Kenyan social media star, and comedian made headlines on Thursday, January 20, when Steve Harvey, an American TV and radio host, pledged her his entire support with an endorsement deal.

Majimbo made a guest appearance on one of Steve Harvey’s TV shows after becoming popular with recordings she released on her internet platforms during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Harvey praised her accomplishments in a video she released online yesterday and said that he had adopted her.

“I’m going to take you in as my niece.” I’ll provide you with my contact information. Harvey vowed, “I don’t care what you need, just call me.”

“Bridging the gap between Africa and African-Americans has been one of my key priorities.” “Elsa, you have an uncle in the United States,” Harvey continued, drawing a round of applause from the audience.

This isn’t the first time the Kenyan hit has been adopted by celebrities from around the world.

Majimbo announced in September 2020 that she has signed a lucrative agreement as a brand ambassador with American artist Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty Cosmetics.

“I basically had a chance to work with Fenty Official when I was 19 years old.” I’m ecstatic! “Thanking the Fenty clan for being so lovely and Rihanna for this beautiful brand,” she said at the time on her Instagram accounts.

Majimbo also shared the letter she received from the artist when she first started her career. “You’re a baddie and you know it,” Rihanna stated in the letter. And your reel was a raging success!” ‘Your childhood pal,’ Rihanna signed off the letter.

In May 2020, Lupita Nyong’o tweeted her support, saying, “Elsa Majimbo has been making me giggle recently.” Go watch her comedic videos right now if you haven’t already!”

Majimbo has now been covered in international news outlets such as The Guardian, the New York Times, CNN, and the BBC.

In 2020, she was also named the People’s Choice Award winner for the Favorite African Social Star.

Last year, American rapper Snoop Dogg posted one of Elsa’s Instagram videos, in which she is seen munching crisps while explaining why she is unable to socialize due to the Coronavirus outbreak. On Instagram reels, the video has over 12 million views.

Who Is Elsa Majimbo?

Elsa Majimbo was born on June 29, 2001, in Nairobi Kenya.

Her sarcastic monologues typically show her munching potato crisps, reclining back on a pillow, and a pair of miniature 1990’s sunglasses as a prop.

She rose to prominence during the COVID-19 quarantine period as a result of her home-based hilarious quarantine movies.

By the end of the year, she had secured Fenty and MAC sponsorships.

She has teamed with the premium brand Valentino as of February 20, 2021.

Elsa was a journalism student at Nairobi’s Strathmore University.

She started publishing talks in 2016 but didn’t finish until 2019. During the COVID-19 lockdown, her speech recordings went viral.

Elsa claimed to be a 15-time chess champion in a Netflix clip. She is not, however, a professional chess player and is not FIDE rated.

She placed fourth in the Kenya National Youth Chess Championship Finals for U16 Girls in 2017.

Elsa has competed in chess competitions at school, such as the Alliance High Open Chess Tournament in 2017.

In the Ladies segment of that competition, there were six contestants.

Elsa tied for second place with four other female competitors.
