UK Prime Minister apologizes for the Downing Street party held during the lockdown, but claims it was a ‘business function.’

At PMQs today, Boris Johnson finally acknowledged to visiting Number 10’s garden on May 20, 2020, when workers were drinking.

He’d spent the previous few days ducking queries about the gathering of 40 individuals, which took place at a time when people could only meet one other person outside.

According to a leaked email, Principal Private Secretary Martin Reynolds delivered an invitation to the ‘bring your own booze’ party to 100 guests.

Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, asked Johnson whether he would quit after calling the Prime Minister’s claim that he “didn’t realise he was at a party” “nonsense.”

He described the Prime Minister as a “guy without shame” who “simply wants answers.”

Johnson, on the other hand, reiterated his party’s defense of waiting for the results of a Cabinet Office probe into a number of alleged Downing Street lockdown parties.
