Sinead O’Connor, an Irish singer, has lost her son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor.
The performer issued a statement on Twitter, writing:
‘My darling son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the light of my life, chose to leave this world today and is now with God.’ May he rest in peace, and may no one else follow in his footsteps. My little one. I adore you to death. ‘Peace be with you.’
Sinéad and fellow Irish artist Dónal Lunny’s teen son was reported missing earlier this week.
Ireland’s police force On January 6, An Garda Sochána made an official complaint seeking information after Shane vanished from a Dublin neighbourhood.
Following the finding of a body in Bray, County Wicklow, Garda confirmed to the Irish Examiner on January 8 that the hunt for Shane had been halted.
‘Following the discovery of a corpse in the Bray region of Wicklow on Friday, 7th January 2022, a Missing Person Appeal in respect of Shane O’Connor, 17 years, has been stopped down,’ according to a Garda spokeswoman.

Sinéad, 55, also uploaded the Bob Marley song Ride Natty Ride on social media, stating that it was ‘for my Shaney.’

Shane was Sinéad’s second-youngest kid at 17, with Jake, 34, Roisin, 25, and Yeshua, 14, among her other children.
