Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that striker Romelu Lukaku will have to accept the disciplinary penalty taken against him by the club’s administration.
Lukaku has been punished, according to Tuchel, for his recent headline-grabbing interview in which he slammed his manager and implied that he wanted to return to Inter Milan because he wasn’t happy at Chelsea.
The Belgian international, who was recalled to Chelsea’s team, must also accept his fine, according to the German.
Tuchel was cited by Metro UK as stating before of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg encounter against Tottenham on Wednesday, “There will be some disciplinary penalty and he will accept it.”
“It’s not a big deal, it’s not the largest deal, and it doesn’t rule out a comeback — definitely not.” This is what we’re demonstrating right now. However, something happened, and he will be penalised, which he must accept.”
“I think it’s more impatience than anything else,” he continued. He is irritable. He’s looking for major opportunities. But he’s impatient, and it’s difficult for him to comprehend that pulling the grass doesn’t always make it grow quicker.
“As with any transfer, you must realize that there will be a change in environment, location, culture, club, teammates, playing style, and league.”
“He’s not the first player to take some time off, but he was constantly scoring and we were still in circumstances where we had to adjust to each other while he was doing it.”
