According to the Washington State Patrol, a Vancouver lady was struck by a car on westbound state Highway 14 at Southeast 164th Avenue on December 26 and died from her injuries on Sunday afternoon.

Tyler S. Haynes, 29, was struck while attempting to cross the westbound lanes after exiting her stalled car on eastbound Highway 14. She was airlifted to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where she died as a result of her injuries.

Around 5:45 p.m., the collision was reported. Haynes was driving a 2005 Ford Focus east on the highway when he was involved in an accident around 164th Avenue, according to a State Patrol crash summary. On the left shoulder, her automobile became disabled.

Haynes exited her car, hopped the barrier and tried to run across the westbound lanes and was struck by a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, the crash memo states.

The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 35-year-old Cesar E. Serrano Calles of Vancouver, was uninjured, troopers said.

Troopers said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
