A home fire in New Castle claimed the lives of two youngsters and one adult this morning, according to the New Castle Fire Chief.
The fire broke out in a house on West Clayton Street.
The state police are looking into it, but the chief does not feel it is suspicious.
There was a fire on the right side of the home when firemen arrived, and it had spread to the second storey.
According to New Castle Fire Department Chief Michael Kobbe, the fire was quickly put out, but the three bodies were discovered later.
The police said, the fire appears to have begun in the kitchen area, and one fatality was located on the first floor, another on the stairway, and a second adult victim in an upstairs bedroom. The adult victim on the second floor dialled 911 and attempted to barricade herself inside the house.
The Lawrence County Coroner is on the scene, and the event is still being investigated.
