Mauritius has extended the travel restriction on all commercial flights to and from South Africa from Saturday, January 1 to January 31, according to SA Airways.

“Any person who has been physically present in the Republic of South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, and Zambia within the past 14 days preceding the date of arrival in Mauritius will not be allowed entry or transit in the Republic of Mauritius with immediate effect,” the Mauritian government said in a statement.

SAA has announced that all flights to and from Mauritius (SA190/SA191) and (SA7109/SA7110) would be cancelled till January 31.

“For the time being, bookings made on February 1 will be honoured.”

“SAA encourages consumers to use a free change policy to rebook later by enabling flexibility.”

“There’s no need to notify us right away if you need to postpone your trips; once the travel restriction is removed, your booking office will assist you with rebooking.”
