The famed barbecue pitmaster was reported to have died on December 16 2021. Not much was written about John Mueller but we will do our possible best to give a brief biography and profile of the legendary barbecue pitmaster.

Who Was John Mueller? Few Things You Need To Know About Him!

John Mueller has made name for himself around the world in the journey of his career. John Mueller is a well-known barbecue pitmaster who rose to fame in 1993 when he took over the famed Louie Mueller Barbecue.

At the earliest peak of his career when he was 25-years-old, John Mueller took over the overmanning the indoor pit at his grandfather’s restaurant, the famed Louie Mueller Barbecue of Taylor, Texas, opened in 1949.

In 2006 Mueller’s BBQ restaurant went off business over financial issues but made a come back in 2011. Mueller alongside his sister, LeAnn opened a small trailer in south Austin called JMueller BBQ.

Though he kept his marital life private, from the information we gathered John Mueller got married to his wife and later in 1999 he divorced her and started dating a fellow employee. They elope in San Antonio a few months later, creating a rift between him and his father, Bobby. A year later he sells his portion of the business back to the family and quits.

John’s father was the legendary Bobby Mueller who stoked the fires at the heralded Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor, Texas for decades before his death in 2008.

John Mueller was reported to have died on December 16 2021 through a Facebook post made by Panther City BBQ. His cause of death or what led to his sad demise was disclosed to the public.
