Basara bomb explosion: 4 dead and 20 others seriously injured

An explosion in Basara an Iraqi city located on the Shatt al-Arab has claimed the lives of four persons and wounded at least 20 others.

Reliable sources from the police told Reuters that an initial investigation showed that a motorcycle rigged with explosives could have been behind the blast, though police are still investigating what happened.

The explosion took place in the city centre, near the main hospital. It set fire to at least one vehicle and damaged a minibus, Reuters reported.
