A local man in Leigham has been arrested and charged for the murder and sudden disappearance of an 18-year-old girl Bobbi-Anne.

Miss Anne was said to have gone missing since Saturday morning after she was seen alive at a bus stop located in Leigham.

Few days after her disappearance her lifeless body was discovered near Bovisand, South Hams after investigators took a search party in the area.

Detectives said there was ‘no known link’ between the man still in custody and Bobbi-Anne.

Cody Ackland, 24, from the Southway area of Plymouth, has now been charged with her murder, police said today.

He was pictured this morning being escorted by officers to Plymouth Magistrates’ Court with a blanket covering his face.

Two men, aged 24 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of murder that same day, although the older suspect was later released with no charge.

A 19-year-old friend of Bobbi-Anne’s says her headphones and tobacco were found at the bus stop where she was last seen.

Describing her as ‘the nicest person, she said: ‘She just used to light up the room, she always knew how to make you laugh.

‘She was sweet and she was so tiny. Bobbi was always small, she never grew.’

Locals have been laying floral tributes close to the site of Bobbi-Anne’s disappearance.

During a candlelit vigil for the teenager, the victim’s mother appeared very distressed but was able to thank the crowd for their support.

She said: – ‘Thank you for doing everything to try and find her and bring our baby home.’
