Who Was Dr Alice Wolf? Few Things You Need To Know About Her!

She was a woman of many calibres who has spoken at numerous local, regional, national and international veterinary gatherings and certainly had a lot noted about her which we are about to envelope now.

Born and raised in Ithaca, New York, Dr Alice Wolf was a feline specialist, a Chief medical consultant at veterinary information network, a lecturer in Feline medicine worldwide and a former professor at Texas A&M University.

She studied nursing at Barry University and bagged a DVM degree from the University of California at Davis.

Dr Wolf spent 3 years in private practice in Albany, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area and the next 24 years as a Professor of Small Animal Medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University.

In 1971, she received her bachelor’s of science degree from Chatham University, Pittsburgh, PA.

Following her massive efforts in the fields of medicine, Dr Alice has received numerous awards from different organisations. Some of the awards in honour of Dr Wolf includes The Norden Teacher award, the Merck teaching award, the Texas A&M University Association of Former Students College and University Level Distinguished Teaching Awards, and the Cornerstone Award from her collegiate alma mater, Chatham College.

Dr Alice has spoken in different open meetings and has been recognised two times with the “Speaker of the Year” award from the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC).

She has also authored many books and is also known as a reviewer and editor for many veterinary publications.

Though not much was known about him, Dr Alice Wolf was happily married to Dr James H Johnson, a Diplomate ACZM and a Certified Aquatic Veterinarian by the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association (WAVMA).

They also had Surrogate Children, “Wilson” (Border Terrier), “Wren” (Pembroke Welsh Corgi).
