19 dead and 50 injured following an ISIS terror attack in a military hospital located in Kabul

At least 19 persons have lost their lives and 50 are already in pain after the ISIS terror group launched a fresh attack in Kabul.

According to an eye Witnesses report says that they felt a detonation and later heard firearms inside the place. The Taliban agency cited sources that target the jihadist group.

About two explosions and shootings happened on Tuesday near the Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan military hospital in central Kabul, an event that caused many casualties, witnesses and a Taliban spokesman said.

Interior Ministry sources confirmed that there are at least 19 dead and 43 injured.

“According to our initial information, an explosion occurred at the door of the military hospital and a second in the vicinity of the hospital, ” a Taliban official told AFP.

Previously, a medical source from this hospital had narrated the first incidents to AFP. ” I was inside the hospital, we heard a loud explosion at the first control of the hospital, I have also heard screams, ” he said. Minutes later, AFP journalists heard a second explosion in the same sector.

“I am inside the hospital. I heard a huge explosion coming from the first checkpoint. We have been told to go to safe rooms. I also hear gunshots, ”a doctor at the Sardar Mohammad Daud Khan hospital in Kabul told AFP. “ I still hear gunshots inside the hospital building. I think the attackers go from room to room … like the first time he was attacked, ”added the doctor.

An Italian NGO that runs an independent hospital in the capital tweeted that it had received nine injured patients at the scene of the blast, in the capital’s 10th police district. Images shared on social media showed black smoke in the air after the explosions, the first of which erupted around 1:00 p.m. (0830 GMT).
