Barely hours after defeating the reigning champion, Ukrainian fighter, Oleksandr Usyk has revealed how he worked so hard and even not seeing his family in making he came out as a winner in the boxing against Nigerian-born boxing star, Anthony Joshua.
After losing to Usyk, Anthony Joshua had to give up his IBF, WBA and WBO belts. The match which has lasted close to an hour left Anthony Joshua with his right eye badly damaged as a result that he was rushed to hospital for emergency medical attention.
While speaking after the fight, the Ukrainian champion told the media that the went as he expected even though Joshua tried to push hard on him but he did nothing much. He also said the match meant a lot to him, stating that all he wanted to do with the fight was only to give praise to Jesus Christ.
I had no objective to knock him out because my corner pushed me not to do that. In the beginning, I tried to hit him hard, but then I stuck to my job.
The only thing I wanted to do with this fight is to give praise to Jesus Christ.
I have been working so hard since January in preparation for this fight, it took me half a year and I didn’t see my family for so long.
I missed seeing them playing. I want to go home and be happy with my family and I’m not thinking about the rematch.
