Ottawa Police Investigating Death Of A Man Shot On York Street

Tyson Ndongozi has been identified as the 20-year-old man shot dead in the backyard of École élémentaire Catholique Sainte-Anne on York Street Monday, July 5, 2021.

The officer who was alerted about the incident at about 11:54 p.m arrived at the scene of the shooting scene and found two men with gunshot wounds.

Unfortunately, the two men were rushed to the hospital where Tyson lost his injuries from the shooting.

On Monday morning, officers remained on the scene ringed with police tape near École élémentaire Catholique Sainte-Anne, across from Jules Morin Park and beside York Street Public School.

Reacting to Tyson’s death, South African radio presenter, Styles Derrick wrote via his official Facebook page – SORROWFUL STORY: Someone else in CANADA has left us murdered by criminals. On behalf of Radio Africa for Hope, we take this opportunity to comfort and mourn the entire family of Jooris Ndongozi Nkunzimana (father of the deceased) Friends and family members, all Burundians living in CANADA not forgetting all these diasporas from all over the world.
