KZN Unrest: President Cyril Ramaphosa issues statement calling for calm in KwaZulu-Natal amid ongoing violent protests

South African president, Cyril Ramaphoza has called for calm following the unrest going on in KwaZulu-Natal over the incarceration of former president Jacob Zuma after being found in contempt of court.

Zuma’s supporters are adamant that he was treated unfairly by the justice system.

They vow to continue protesting until he’s released from prison.

But Ramaphosa says communities in KwaZulu-Natal must stop undermining the rule of law.

Meanwhile, several people have gone on a looting spree in KZN, a shop owned by Shoprite was part of the stores affected.
