Sri Lanka Man, His Wife & Daughter Killed In A Fatal Crash In Milton

A Family of three from Sri Lanka tragically lost their lives in a terrible car accident in Milton, Ontario, Canada last Saturday, June 19 2021.

The victims identified as Athula Karunannda (Father), Mrs Somikelum Karunannda (Mother) and Mrs Predeepa Karunannda (Daughter) were said to be travelling with an SUV eastbound on Britannia Road when a Cadillac sedan driven by a 28-year-old man from Milton travelling Southbound on Fourth line collided with the SUV. The incident happened around 12:30 a.m.

According to reports from authorities, “Two of the SUV’s occupants were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash while the third succumbed to their injuries during EMS transport to a trauma centre,”.

Authorities revealed that the accident was a result of speeding and reckless driving of a young driver believed to be intoxicated.

The HRPS Milt HHills are still investigating the incident and will release an update soon.

The Sri Lanka Man, Athula Karunananda works at RBC finanacial services. He was a former IT manager at Stafford Motor Company (Pvt) Limited.

Before Joining the RBC Athula was a Genesys consultant at EJiva Inc and worked at EWA (An Electricity and Water Authority)

He studied engineering at Ananda College.
