Former Head Boy, George Sketcher Has Passed Away

The Newcastle-under-Lyme School are mourning the death of one of their alumnus and former Head Boy, George Sketcher who sadly passed away at his younger age. Circumstances surrounding his death was not made known to the public.

The School announced his death in an official post made on their Facebook page.

With great sadness, we share the news with our School family, friends and community of the passing of alumnus and former Head Boy, George Sketcher who was studying Physics with Astrophysics at Bristol University.

Mr Getty paid tribute to George – “From Prep through to Sixth Form, George was simply exceptional; highly intelligent, brilliantly sporting, fondly regarded and so well-loved. George, you will be missed.”

Reacting to George’s death the Whitemore Cricket Club described George as a truly talented player with sportsmanship spirit.

As Posted On Their FB Page: Today Whitmore and Ashcombe Park Players observed a minutes silence in memory of George Sketcher, a previous Whitmore Junior player who sadly passed away this week.
George was a truly talented player and a fine young man. He will be missed greatly. From all of us at Whitmore, we offer our sincere condolences and support to all of his family.
