Durban Helicopter Crash Leaves Two Dead

No fewer than two people lost their lives on Monday morning in a helicopter crash on the N2 highway in Durban.

A pilot and his student were identified as the victims of the crash. The helicopter was said to have crashed into vegetation alongside the Umgeni River below the N2 before the Inanda Road offramp.

According to information from authorities, the pilot and passenger died at the scene of the crash after efforts by paramedics to save their lives.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), several other Emergency Services and Law Enforcement Agencies arrive at the scene when they were alerted about the incident.

Rescue technicians used boats to cross the river in an attempt to reach the aircraft.
