It has been confirmed on social media that Freddy Marks from the classic children TV Rainbow’s rod, Jane and Freddy has passed away at the age of 71. The English musician and writer were reported to have died on May 27 2021. His cause of death has not been made known to the public.
Freddy is popularly known for being part of the musical trio Rod, Jane and Freddy which appeared in children’s programming on the British TV channel ITV in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s.
The popular trio then went on to have their own 15-minutes show, Rod, Jane and Freddy which ran for 10 years in the 1980s.
Sorry to hear of the passing of Freddy Marks.

Who Is Freddy Marks? Few Things You Need To Know About Him!
Freddy Marks was a popular English musician and writer whose career spars in numerous London theatre productions.
He is a member of the musical trio Rod, Jane and Freddy which appeared in children’s programming on the British TV channel ITV in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s.
The popular trio had their own 15-minutes show, Rod, Jane and Freddy which ran for 10 years in the 1980s.
Born on September 1949 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England, Freddy married the love of his life, Jane Tucker in May 2016.
Freddy breakthrough came when in 1979 he got the opportunity to join the cast of Rainbow an award-winning children’s TV show, lucky enough he got the job immediately and joined the two existing musicians Rod Burton and Jane Tucker and the now-famous trio of Rod, Jane and Freddy was formed.
Freddy in January 1981 teamed up with Rod and Jane to aired its first episode on series of mini-musicals. They made 7 series in total, writing and performing some magical and memorable songs. Rod, Jane and Freddy appeared in both their own show and Rainbow for 10 years until 1990 when Thames TV lost their franchise and Rainbow came to an end.
Freddy played the role of ‘Freddy’ in the show.
In 1991, he took time with his team on their road show and tour which extensively went across the UK playing every major theatre for the next six years.
