Who Is Awka Ibom job seeker’s killer Uduak Frank Akpan

Police have identified the 20-year-old Nigerian man who was suspected to be the killer of the Akwa Ibom woman who was raped and murdered after she was lured into a job offer that got her killed.

The young man identified as Uduak Frank Akpan is a 21-year-old man, He was reported to be the suspected killer of the slain job-seeker, Iniubong Umoren. He lured the young girl into his place at Nnung Ikono Obio in Uruan Local Government Area of the State, raped, killed, and eventually buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound.

More revealing details coming from the police say that records obtained from his mobile network provider published Monday by Newswire, Mr Akpan, shortly before his arrest, had telephone conversations with a Messrs Ezeugo and Effiong, a revelation that has raised suspicion of conspiracy.

Mr Ezeugo heads the police division that supervised the arrest of Mr Akpan while Mr Effiong, a civil servant at the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta, is a close relation of the suspect.

However, in separate interviews, both men explained to this newspaper that they were only in talks with the culprit to facilitate his arrest.

Shallow graves uncovered as angry youths vandalize suspected killer’s building.

Reports gathered on Friday 6th May 2021 revealed that about twelve shallow graves were uncovered in the compound of Mr. Uduak Akpan, the suspected killer of one Miss Iniubong Umoren, a graduate of philosophy in the guise of offering her a job in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The suspect who is now cooling his feet at the police station in Ikot akpanabia, Uyo was alleged to have lured late Umoren to his place at Nnung Ikono Obio in Uruan Local Government Area of the State, raped, killed, and eventually buried her in a shallow grave in his father’s compound.

The youths of the community enraged with the news stormed the compound, and vandalised the building, using pebbles after setting ablaze the security house of the one storey building.

Reports gathered from one of the residents in the community revealed that the family of the suspect erected the building about four years ago and do not live there permanently but only come occasionally since they have another building in Uyo town and nobody actually knew what they do inside the compound.

Uduak Frank Akpan Allegedly Committed Suicide, Police Debunks Rumor 

The suspected killer of job seeker, Miss Iniubong Umoren , Uduak Frank Akpan have been arrest and held in custody, On Thursday 13th April 2021, The Commissioner for Police in Akwa Ibom state, Andrew Amiengheme, dismissed reports claiming that he committed suicide in its police custody.

Reports that 20-year Akpan, who allegedly lured Miss Umoren with a job offer and subsequently raped and killed her, had committed suicide, was rife online today. The reports claim that he committed suicide with his trousers tied to metal after having his meal.

Dismissing the report, the state police boss in an interview with The Nation, said

”It is not true that Uduak Akpan has committed suicide. The suspect is in our custody. Maybe he committed suicide in the bedrooms of those peddling the rumour.”
