Over 20 Paestaniainas were on Monday night killed during an Isreal airstrike in the country.

Reports gathered from authorities said nine children were among those killed in the Israeli airstrikes against Hamas targets in the northern Gaza strip on Monday.

The country has claimed responsibility for the rockets launched towards southern Israel, saying they were in retaliation for Israeli ‘crimes and aggression’.

Speaking on Monday was Abu Obeida the spokesman for Hamas’ military wing, said: ‘This is a message the enemy has to understand well.’

According to the latest calculations, over 200 rockets have been launched towards Israel since Monday, 90% of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile shield.

The Israeli army claimed on Tuesday to have killed 15 members of the Hamas terrorist group in the Gaza Strip, an enclave in which it carried out 130 attacks in response to rocket fire.

“We have attacked 130 military targets that belong mainly to Hamas,” army spokesman Jonathan Conricus told reporters. ” According to our current estimates, we have killed 15 members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad .”

“We are in the initial phase of our response against military targets in Gaza,” Conricus said. “We are prepared for an escalation,” he added.

The rocket salvoes launched from the Gaza Strip constitute “a serious aggression against Israel , which we cannot leave unanswered,” he said.

Local authorities in Gaza reported 22 deaths, in the largest Israeli attacks since November 2019.

In Israel, rescuers reported several injuries following rocket fire from the Palestinian enclave.

According to a last balance of the army, 200 rockets were launched towards Israel on Monday, 90% of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome anti-missile shield.

Many others fell within the Gaza Strip, a territory controlled by the Hamas terrorist group.

The United States and the United Kingdom on Monday condemned the launch of missiles towards Israel by the terrorist group Hamas , which have taken place in the framework of a strong escalation in the territory and particularly in Jerusalem.

Washington called the terrorist group’s actions an “unacceptable escalation” and reiterated the call to defuse tensions in Jerusalem. “The United States condemns in the strongest terms the rocket barrage launched against Israel in the last few hours.

It is an unacceptable escalation, ”State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters.

Shortly after, Secretary of State Antony Blinken called on both parties to “de-escalate” the situation.

London expressed itself in the same way – ” the UK condemns the launching of missiles at Jerusalem and other locations in Israel – and called through Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab for an” immediate de-escalation of all parties. “The violence in Jerusalem and Gaza must stop,” he added.

Germany also spoke along the same lines. Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that ” nothing justifies launching missiles at the Israeli civilian population.” “It certainly does not lead to the resolution of the conflict, but to a senseless escalation, ” he added on his social networks, urging both parties to “avoid more civilian casualties.”

The new rocket attacks and salvoes intervene in a context of violence in East Jerusalem, the Palestinian sector of the Holy City.

On Monday, some 520 Palestinians and 32 Israeli policemen were injured in further clashes on the Esplanade of the Mosques and elsewhere in East Jerusalem.

Hamas had threatened Israel with a new military escalation if its forces did not withdraw at 6:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. GMT) from the esplanade.

The clashes coincided with ” Jerusalem Day ” which, according to the Hebrew calendar, marks the capture of the eastern part of the Holy City by the Israeli army in 1967.
