It is with great sadness that Beaconsfield Rugby Football Club announces the passing of one of our own, Catherine “Cat” Polson.
Cat was a long-standing and beloved member of the Beaconsfield Rugby family who played for many years on the Senior Women’s team. She was also a tireless volunteer on the Executive Committee in a number of positions.
Her passion for the club, her rugby friends, the game and her favoured hooker position was infectious and boundless.
She was the ultimate club mate and teammate. Cat’s warmth and gentleness with the younger players and children of her clubmates will be dearly missed. It was also Cat’s smiling face that made every new player and supporter feel welcome and cared for.
Reacting to her death, Montreal Barbarians Rugby Club pen down their heartfelt tribute to the late Catherine, describing her as an amazing teammate and an incredible friend.
Penning their tribute they wrote – We are deeply saddened by the news of Catherine Polson’s passing.
