Information reaching our news desk has it that talented Nottinghamshire cricketer, Joshua Downie has sadly passed away at the age of 24. Josh Downie who was a brother to British Gymnast, Beck Downie reportedly died a few days ago.
Circumstances surrounding his death is still not yet known to the public as at the time of filing this report but sources revealed that he suddenly took ill at nets and died on the evening 6th May.
He was the 1st team opening batsmen for Birkenhead Park CC. Joshua became a first-team regular in 2011 and went on to score the highest individual score by a player in club history, with 137 against Caythorpe in 2013.
The Owzat-Cricket Notts Premier League took to their official Twitter page to announce the news to the public.
In a series of tweets, they wrote – Everybody within the #NPL community is incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Josh Downie, aged just 24.

Alo reacting to his death the Hucknall CC cricket sent their heartfelt condolences to the family of Josh describing him as a warn nature person who touched the lives of so many people.
