USA Women’s Softball Player, Christan Dowling Has Passed Away

The USA Softball Women’s Slow Pitch National Team are mourning the death of one of their member, Christan Dowling.

Christian Dowling a softball player and Easton professional has sadly passed away. She was reported to have died today April 13 2021.

The news of her death was confirmed on social media by USA Softball. Circumstances surrounding her death was not made known to the public.

Announcing the news on their Facebook they wrote – Our hearts are heavy with the news of #USASoftball Women’s Slow Pitch National Team member Christan Dowling’s passing. Dowling’s presence on and off the field was monumental in the Slow Pitch program and she will be missed dearly.

Reacting to her death the USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team via their official Facebook wrote – The USA Patriots are devastated to learn the news of fellow softball player and Easton Professional, Christan Dowling. Christan was an incredible athlete who also spent time teaching us her incredible talent and we will be forever grateful for the time she gave to us. Our hearts are broken and we share our love and prayers to her family, friends, and the Easton team.

Dowling was a mainstay of the U.S. lineup, hitting at the top of the lineup to spark the Red, White and Blue offence. She appeared in every game played at Border Battle, leading the team with two home runs, five walks and a 2.000 slugging percentage with five RBI and three runs scored.

In 2017, Dowling was selected by the National Governing body of Softball in the United States as the USA softball female slow pitch athlete of the year.
