Rapper Shock G Dies At 57

American musician, rapper, and lead vocalist for the hip hop group Digital Underground, Gregory Jacobs was popularly known by his stage name as Shock G has passed away at the age of 57. He was reported to have died today April 22 2021.

Circumstances surrounding his death has not been made known to the public as of the time of filing this report.

Shock G was responsible for Digital Underground’s “The Humpty Dance”, 2Pac’s breakthrough single “I Get Around”, and co-producer of 2Pac’s debut album 2Pacalypse Now.

He started Digital Underground with Chopmaster J after he relocated to the Bay Area in 1987 after growing up on the East Coast, mostly in Florida and New York City. Digital Underground’s early singles, including “Underwater Rimes” and “Doowutchyalike,” were underground hits, built on samples of Parliament-Funkadelic and other ’70s funk songs.
