Australian Singer, Anita Lane Has Passed Away



Information reaching our news desk has it that Australian singer and songwriter, Anita Lane died today April 28 2021. The news of her death flooded social media today.

Anita was briefly a member of The Bad Seeds with Nick Cave and Mick Harvey, and has collaborated with both former bandmates.

Born in 1959 in MelbourneHer, Anita’s interest in music groomed when she was a teen. She started singing and writing songs at the age of 16.

Circumstances surrounding her death is not yet known at the time of filing this report.

Composer and actor, Darren Day in a series of tweets confirmed that Anita Lane has passed on.

The Tweets Reads:- Anita Lane has left this world. She made some of the sexiest & most melancholy music with Nick Cave & on her solo albums. My favourite work by her was the Gainsbourg albums with Mick Harvey. This remains one of the most beautiful arrangements of any song I’ve ever heard.

Born in 1959 in Melbourne Anita Louise Lane was an Australian singer and songwriter. She was formerly a member of The Bad Seeds with Nick Cave and Mick Harvey.

Anita Lane met Nick Cave in 1977 and the pair began an intermittent personal relationship. Cave on lead vocals, was a member of a new wave group, The Boys Next Door, with Mick Harvey on guitar, Phill Calvert on drums and Tracy Pew on bass guitar.

Anita and Cave ended their relationship in 1983, the breakup didn’t stop them from pushing their music career. They intermittently worked together professionally into the 1990s.

Her passion for music started when she was a teen. She began writing and singing songs at the age of 16.
