Bay city rollers Les Mckeown dies at the age of 65

Les McKeown BAY city Roller frontman have passed away at his home on April 20.

Mckewon died on April 20 at home accordin the confirmation receieved from the band confirmed today.

The band paid tribute to the former heart-throb, telling of their “profound sadness”

In their statement earlier today they wrote:

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband and father Leslie Richard McKeown.

“Leslie died suddenly at home on Tuesday April 20, 2021.

“We are currently making arrangements for his funeral.”

He was the lead singer of the tartan-clad band during their most successful period, joined the group in late 1973 before leaving in 1978.

It is not known how the beloved Scot died.
Dubbed the “tartan teen sensations from Edinburgh”, they were the first of many acts heralded as the “biggest group since the Beatles”.
