Tributes

Eric Novak Wrote – I’m just hearing now that Tom Gibney, the legendary former news anchor for CTV Toronto has died. I grew up watching him on World Beat News and he was easily one of the people that influenced me to make the decision to attend Ryerson’s Radio and Television Arts program. A true legend and a classic example of how the news was the lead and not the anchor is gone. Rest in Peace, Mr. Gibney and thank you for inspiring me.

Carla Collins Wrote – Just found out the very sad news that Tom Gibney passed away today. I was lucky enough to work with that charming, grumpy, extraordinary anchorman at the CTV/CFTO anchor desk. During that time, my greatest triumph was to make him laugh. He was extremely kind to me always. I have very fond memories of him and was just talking about him the other day. Rest in peace Gibinator and thank you.

Sure Priest Wrote – I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Tom Gibney. My deepest condolences to his wife Donna, his four children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
