 Canadian Drag Legend, Michelle Ross Is Dead

Michelle Ross who has been a reigning queen on Toronto’s Church Street and beyond for over 45 years has sadly passed away. She was reported to have died today March 28 2021. Her cause of death is not yet known at the time of filing this report.

The news of her death was confirmed on social media by internet users.

Michelle Ross the Canadian drag LEGEND first climbed onto a stage to perform Dionne Warwick’s “Anyone Who Had a Heart” back in 1974 and basically never came down.

She was a pillar of history in Toronto’s gay village. The Jamaican born Canadian drag queen was known for her legendary wig snatching performances. A career spanning 4 decades.

The Drag queen has been known to cap off her show-stopping acts by removing her wig as a clever way of calling attention to the fine line between identity and performance.
