Reports reaching us that Zimbabwe’s former deputy information minister Energy Mutodi has been sacked for mocking Tanzanian President John Magufuli’s Covid-19 response,

The minister has claimed vindication after the Tanzanian leader apparently died from the virus. Mutodi has described Magufuli’s death as ‘reparation’

Similarly, the minister was last year also disbanded from his service as the deputy information minister by the Zimbabwean president, Emmerson Mnangagwa for insulting three kidnapped opposition officials in a tweet.

A prominent opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) lawmaker and two-party officials were originally arrested for protesting over food shortages experienced during the coronavirus lockdown.

The Minister in his tweet said that he has been vindicated following the death of Tanzanian president John Magafuli yesterday.

In his words, he said: “The Lord Almighty has vindicated his servant in the death of Tanzanian President John Pombe Magafuli. Where there were rejection and rebuke, He has provided reparation”
