Western Australian combat sport lost a goodfella today. RIP Alan Pond. This bloke fought anyone, anytime. No matter what the discipline. Sparred this Trojan back when I had a few kickboxing fights, then when I started boxing.

Saw him last Friday night at @dragonfire_boxing and had a few laughs about the old days. A loss to the community. Had a reaction to a cortisone shot by the poor bugger. Goodness knows he needed it after the hell he put his body through the hard nut. Bloody sad, rest easy old mate. Thank you to W.a.’s own The Rock Daniel Dawson for the pic.

Who Is Alan Pond?

Aland was an Australian local boxer who grew up in Perth Western Australia. He went to several different schools because he was “an overactive child”.

After his school, Alan left home in 1984 at 14 yrs & travelled to the Eastern states to try to find greener pasture.

His martial arts journey began when he started training in Boxing & Buk Sing Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu at the local Midland PCYC, under the guidance of my Sifu Tony Murase.

Aland Pond started competing in Amateur Boxing fights when he was 19-year-old. He lost his first 2 fights on points & had a hard time dealing with it. Because of his losing spree, he then decided to concentrate more on Kung Fu & tried to turn himself into a lethal weapon. After a couple of years, he returned to competitive Boxing.
