Veteran Broadcaster, Noxolo Grootboom Retires After 37 Years Of Service

Noxolo Grootboom has officially retired from the industry after spending 37 years of her career working as isiXhosa newsreader.
The news of her retirement from the industry was announced by the SABC.
Even though Grootboom presented the news in isiXhosa, she is much loved by many South Africans who may not necessarily be isiXhosa speaking.
She began her career in the ’80s in the typing pool before making her way to TV screens as a staple part of the evening news for more than two decades.
Grootboom will officially bow out from the job on the 30th of this month. Social media was buzzed up after the news was shared with the public.
After 37 years of service #NoxoloGrootboom is retiring. What an absolute legend she is! I’m glad the country is celebrating her immense contribution. She certainly remains a fixture of my childhood; watching IsiXhosa news at 7pm.
