Fox 5 DC Reporter Beth Parker Has Passed Away

It has been confirmed on social media that former FOX 5 reporter, Beth Parker has sadly passed away at the age of 51. She was reported to have died in the early hours of today after a long battle with cancer.

Beth was known for covering news stories across the D.C Region.

She spent 17 years of her career in FOX before making an exit from the station in 2015. Following her exit from the FOX 5, Beth decided to join the Lean In founder Sheryl Sandberg where she worked as their Chief Communication Officer.

Her former colleague, Melanie Alnwick took to her official Facebook page to write a lengthy tribute about her old good memories with Beth.

I have no more words. So I’ll share a few instead.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we share the news Beth passed away early Monday morning. It is difficult to fathom that someone who was such a bright light in our lives is no longer physically with us. Beth tried every treatment offered in an attempt to beat this terrible and rare cancer, and she fought valiantly until the final days of her life. In the end, she died at home with the love of her life, Holly, and her beloved son Parker.”

I count myself among the lucky to be a Friend of Beth Parker. Over the last few days, we’ve shared pictures and posts on our private Facebook group. I hope Holly was able to share some with Beth as we built a circle of love around her. I woke up from a lucid dream early Monday and wrote this:
