Former English Table Tennis Champion, Chester Barnes Has Passed Away

Information reaching our news desk has it that former English table tennis champion, who was England No. 1 player for many years during the 1960s and 1970s, George Chester Barnes is dead. The 70-year-old former tennis champion passed away today March 19 2021.

After his retirement from Professional tennis, Chester joined the Martin Pipe racing stables as an assistant to the racehorse trainer.

The news of his death was confirmed on social media by Horse rider, Simon Clare through his official Twitter page.

In a series of tweets he wrote:

Chester Barnes has passed away. Chester was a big part of the amazing Martin Pipe team that changed the face of jump racing in the 1990s, and infectiously positive.
