Kenyans woke up to the sad news of former NTV anchor & KPC Board Member, Winnie Mukani. According to reports on social media, Winnie Mukani passed away today March 18 2021 after battling with COVID-19.

She tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a Nairobi Hospital but sadly succumbed to illness.

Winnie Mukani was a former NTV news journalist.

In 2018, she was appointed to the board of Kenya Pipeline Company for a period of three years.

Winnie had in an interview revealed that she used to hawk uji (porridge) to construction workers before she secured formal employment.

She first worked as a tailor at an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) before she was pushed to the other side of life in 2001 when she applied for a position at the national broadcaster, KBC and got employed.

Before moving to Nation TV (NTV), She spent two years as a presenter on TV and hosting radio programs at KBC.

She exited the NTV in 2010 after seven years following a retrenchment to pave way for a new breed of journalists.

Before her death, she was the CEO at Winners Frontiers International.
