Police arrests 45-year-old health worker in Botshabelo for illegal possession of ARV tablets

Police in Botshabelo has arrested a 45-year-old male Health worker working with a local clinic in U-section in Botshabelo after he was found to be in possession and unlawfully selling ARV tablets.

Disclosing this on Friday morning, the police said on Thursday 11 March 2021 at about 19:00 Selosesha Tactical Response Team conducted an intelligence-driven operation at a house in Section C1, Botshabelo. Whilst searching the house, members found 102 ARV bottles valued at R41 200-00, stamped doctor’s sick notes, doctor’s referral letters and syringes.

They said upon a further investigation carried out helped them to find out that the suspect was allegedly selling one bottle of ARV tablets for R100-00.

The suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear before the Botshabelo Magistrates’ Court soon for possession of the controlled substance.
