1. Karima Brown is a veteran South African journalist who before her death was the host of The Fix on eNCA.

2. She has worked at various media houses including as an Executive producer at SAfm.

3. Brown grew up in Mitchells Plain, in the Western Cape, and served in different youth organisations.

4. She has once represented the country at the United Nations General Assembly.

5. Karima Brown was married to apartheid spy Geoff Brown. Her son celebrated his 30th birthday last month February.

6. She became one of the founding organisers of the South African Youth Congress that was led by Peter Mokaba.

7. In 1984, the UN declared the year of the youth, Karima represented South African youth from a liberation point of view at the UN General Assembly where she addressed the general assembly.
