Richmond RCMP Officer Dies Unexpectedly

The South Asian community and the community at large are mourning the death of one of their most valuable officers Cst. Jasmine Thiara who unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, February 21 2021.
According to the information posted online the Richmond RCMP Officer Jasmine Thiara allegedly shot and killed herself with her service pistol alongside another police colleague in Canada.
Richmond RCMP Statement On Cst Jasmine Sudden Demise
The news has been confirmed by The Richmond RCMP today through an official statement. Though they did not state what actually happened that led to the sudden demise of Jasmine but excerpts from the statement revealed that the death happened while they were off duty.

Read Excerpts From The Statement – “We continue to deal with the overwhelming shock and grief over the loss of one of our Richmond RCMP police officers on Sunday, February 21, 2021. The death happened while they were off duty and the BC Coroners Service is conducting an investigation to determine the facts surrounding the death.
Their family has asked for privacy so we have not discussed the loss publicly. However, information around the death has been shared with the greater RCMP family so we can all come together to deal with the tragic news about one of our own. Supports are in place for both their family and our colleagues, and we will continue to monitor everyone’s wellness moving forward.”

Many of her colleagues have taken to social media to pen down their heartfelt condolences to the family of Jasmine.
Kartar Singh who was deeply saddened on hearing the news of Jasmine’s death said the whole incident about her death is questionable.
Deeply saddened to hear that Richmond RCMP Officer Jasmine Thiara has allegedly shot herself with her service pistol alongside another police colleague in Canada, Sending my heartfelt prayers for her family in this devastating time and filled with questions about what led her to this point and whether with some support this could have been prevented. Waheguru; he said.
First responder Pascal Rodier took to his Twitter handle to express his feelings on how the news of her death has not been made public after she served all the citizens of her community as part of law enforcement.

The RED FM 93.1 Vancouver also reacted to the death of Cst Jasmine. Penning down their tribute the wrote – We are deeply saddened by the passing of Cst Jasmine Thiara #64971 from Richmond. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace. Thank you for your service.
