Pastor Makamu COVID-19

On July 2020, Bishop Makamu announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 after feeling unwell. Later at the end of the month, he revealed that he has been totally healed from the virus.

In an interview with the Dailysun describing the symptoms of the virus said his body was just fatigued and it really hurts.

“This thing hurts, my body was just fatigued and had other symptoms. I’m feeling much better now and want people to know that this is real, and they should really take this seriously,” he said.

Bishop I Makamu Steps Down From Moja LOVE

On May 11 2021, Bishop Israel Makamu voluntarily decided to step down from Moja LOVE after an alleged telephonic conversation between him and a teenage girl went viral on social media.

They alleged that in the audio conversation Bishop Makamu was asking the teenage girl for sex.

Reacting to the viral clip, Makamu said he is sad that someone had gone out to ruin his reputation.

He said the lady in the audio clip was his former employee and that their conversation was never sexual in any manner.

Moja LOVE has also accepted Bisho Makamu’s voluntary decision to step down. They said the channel will be conducting an internal investigation regarding the matter before Bishop Makamu is reinstated back to the channel.
