St. Lawrence Women’s Hockey Player, Emily Middagh Has Passed Away

St. Lawrence Women’s Hockey player, Emily Middagh has sadly passed away at the age of 23. Emily Middagh was reported to have died on February 7th 2021. No cause of death was reported.

Emily played in seven games as a sophomore. She played in 32 games, finding a spot in the lineup both as a forward and on the blue line and Registered her first collegiate point in her first career game with an assist in a win over ninth-ranked Northeastern.

She Scored her first career goal in a win over Brown on Jan. 13 and Notched her first career multi-point game with two assists in a win over Yale on Nov. 18.

Before joining St. Lawrence, Emily in 2015 Captained the Balmoral Hall Blazers and was Named Top Defenseman.

She was an All-Star selection in the JWHL for the 2015-16 season, Was the top goal-scoring defenseman in the JWHL. Emily Played for Team Manitoba at 2015 nationals, played for the Aboriginal Team Manitoba in the 2016 nationals, was named Top Forward of the tournament.

She received the ‘Young Leaders Award’ and was named Balmoral Hall Varsity Athlete of the Year in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
