ESPN Reporter, Pedro Gomez Is Dead

Information that emerged on yesterday has it that longtime ESPN Sportscenter reporter, Pedro Gomes has sadly passed away. He was reported to have unexpectedly died on Sunday, February 7 2021. Circumstances surrounding his death has not been made public.

The news of his death was confirmed by the Chairman, ESPN and Sports Content James Pitaro.

Reacting to his death in an official statement from the club James said; “We are shocked and saddened to learn that our friend and colleague Pedro Gomez has passed away,” “Pedro was an elite journalist at the highest level and his professional accomplishments are universally recognized. More importantly, Pedro was a kind, dear friend to us all. Our hearts are with Pedro’s family and all who love him at this extraordinarily difficult time.”

Gomez had earlier worked with the Arizona Republic where he served as a sports columnist and national baseball writer from before joining the ESPN in 2003. He won first place, sports enterprise, for “Discovering the Home I Never Knew” from the Arizona Associated Press Managing Editors Association in 1999. He also emerged the winner of the Arizona Republic’s Silver Ingot Award for outstanding series.

Pedro Gomez left behind his wife, Sandra, sons Rio and Dante, and daughter Sierra.
